Whats a Healthy Measure?

Blogs

1 in 2 Australians are overweight.

Irrespective of your height and weight or build, if your waistline is getting bigger then you are at risk .

Risks of what? Hypertension, Stroke, Diabetes, Depression and importantly for us Obstructive Sleep Apnoea.

For men your waistline should be less than 94cm, for women less than 80cm.

To be honest you don’t really need a tape measure. You can tell by your clothes, if they are getting tight then that is a good indication that your waistline is expanding.

I can’t have sleep apnoea

Blogs

“It seems every magazine I pick up at the moment, has an article about sleep and how vital sleep is to good health”. What can be confusing to some people who suffer from Obstructive Sleep apnoea, is that they often sleep all night!

These people will present to their Doctor saying “I can’t have sleep Apnoea, I sleep 8 hours or more every night”. This is probably true, however the quality of their sleep is poor, due to the often regular and constant interruption’s to their breathing. Don’t assume you don’t have sleep apnoea, just because you spend 8 hours in bed each night.
